Hans Hamid Rasmussen

Born 1963 in Algeria, Hans Hamid Rasmussen lives and works in Oslo and Rakkestad, Norway.
Hans Hamid studied at Fotoakademin at Konstfack in Stockholm and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo. From 2004 to 2007, he took part in the programme for artistic development with the project; A Homage to the Hybrid at The Art Academy in Trondheim. The project was guided by the artist Nina Roos, the philosopher and curator Sarat Maharaj and the curator Maaretta Jaukkuri.
From 2008 to 2020, he held the position of amanuensis and professor of visual art in the subject area of textiles at the Department of Arts and Crafts at Oslo School of the Arts.
The artist recently published the book Elva er et annet sted in collaboration with Ellef Prestsæter, which includes a text by author Per Petterson. Rasmussen held a solo exhibition at Shoot Gallery in Oslo in (2020) and Martin Asbæk Gallery in Copenhagen (2018).
In addition, Hans Hamid has participated in the Biennale de Havana (2019), the Hangzhou Triennial of Fiber Art (2016), the Gothenburg International Biennial (2011), the third Triennial in Guangzhou (2008) and the 26th São Paulo Biennial (2004). You can find Rasmussen’s art represented in both public museums and private collections nationally and internationally.
