The Darkroom Rumour is a documentary streaming platform dedicated to photography, offering subscribers access to curated audiovisual content (films, interviews, written articles, images, and more).
The service is published and operated by cinq26 SAS (“cinq26”), a French limited liability company.
These Terms of Use and Sale govern your use of The Darkroom Rumour service (hereafter “the Service”).
The expressions “the Service,” “our Service,” or “TDR” refer to the website thedarkroomrumour.com and all related features, interfaces, and content provided therein.
1. Subscriptions and Access
We offer monthly and annual subscription plans.
Monthly subscriptions renew automatically every month until canceled.
Annual subscriptions are billed once at the time of registration and also renew automatically.
Unless you cancel your subscription before your renewal date, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for the following month or year.
To use the Service, you must have Internet access, a compatible device, and a valid payment method on file.
2. Free Trials
The Darkroom Rumour may occasionally offer a free trial period.
Free trials begin when you click “Start My Free Trial,” select a plan, and complete the registration process.
The standard trial lasts 7 days, unless otherwise specified.
Free trials are available only to new or eligible returning users, at our sole discretion.
At the end of the trial, your selected payment method will be charged automatically unless you cancel before the trial expires.
3. Billing and Payments
All payments and billing are processed securely through Stripe.
cinq26 never has access to your payment details.
The catalogue of films and content available on The Darkroom Rumour may change over time, depending on licensing agreements.
Some films may not be available in all subtitle languages.
In accordance with Article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code, digital subscriptions providing immediate access to content are not subject to any right of withdrawal.
All purchases are final once payment is confirmed.
Promotional offers and discount codes are subject to specific terms and durations stated on the website.
They cannot be combined or applied retroactively.
4. The Service
Streaming is provided through DailyMotion Cloud Player, compatible with most web browsers and devices.
The Service is for personal, non-commercial use only.
All intellectual property rights in the site’s structure and content are held by cinq26 and/or its partners worldwide.
5. Passwords and Account Access
The account holder is responsible for maintaining control over their The Darkroom Rumour account and for keeping login details and payment information confidential.
Do not share your password or payment details with anyone.
If suspicious activity is detected, cinq26 reserves the right to suspend or terminate the account to prevent fraud or identity theft.
6. Gift Subscriptions
A “Gift Subscription” is a prepaid plan granting full access to the entire catalogue for 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years.
Gift subscriptions do not renew automatically and involve no recurring payment.
When purchasing, the giver may:
– send the gift directly by email to the recipient immediately or on a chosen date, or
– download a printable PDF gift card with a unique activation code.
The giver can personalize the message and choose an image.
The recipient receives an email containing the activation link or code.
The subscription begins on the activation date, not on the purchase date.
The link or code remains valid for one (1) year from purchase.
If it is not activated within that time, the gift will be reallocated through our Solidarity Program, offering access to a student, artist, or teacher who cannot afford a subscription.
Every forgotten gift becomes a shared one.
Gift subscriptions are non-refundable.
They cannot be exchanged for money or converted into a regular subscription.
The recipient must create a personal account to activate the gift.
When the period ends, access stops automatically; the recipient may then subscribe independently if desired.
Gift subscriptions are valid worldwide and provide unrestricted access to all films.
The gift email is sent in the buyer’s language (French or English), but the recipient may freely change the site language afterward.
7. Governing Law and Mediation
These Terms are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, consumers may contact a certified mediation service free of charge or use the European online dispute resolution platform:

8. Warranty and Liability
Streaming is provided through DailyMotion Cloud Player.
cinq26 cannot be held responsible for interruptions or failures caused by third-party providers (hosting or streaming services).
The film catalogue is dynamic: some titles may be added, modified, or withdrawn due to rights, technical, or contractual reasons.
Such changes do not entitle users to compensation.

10. Personal Data
Personal data collected during subscription or gift purchase is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at:

11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
12. Modification of Terms
The Darkroom Rumour may amend these Terms at any time, with at least 30 days’ notice before new terms take effect.
13. Electronic Communications
All communications regarding your account (payment confirmations, invoices, password changes, notifications) are sent electronically to the email address provided upon registration.
