Synopsis

In a subtle blend of still and moving images, Lorenzo Castore invokes the great themes of Thomas Mann's Death in Venice. An ageing man loses himself in the pursuit of beauty, youth and eroticism in a Venetian maze. A primitive force responds, the dance of a masked woman, Alice Raffaelli, between monstrosity and sensual embrace, the desire to live defies the fear of death.
