Nicolai af Rosenborg
Film director
Nicolai af Rosenborg, born in 1997, is a Copenhagen-based filmmaker shaped by a dual heritage — French and Danish — and a deep curiosity about what moves people beneath the surface. After graduating from the European Film College in 2018, his early work unfolded in the space between observation and intimacy, often through short documentaries. His practice now drifts between fiction and documentary — not as opposites, but as companions — both rooted in a fascination with real life. What unites his work is a quiet search for vulnerability, for the moments people usually hide. In 2025, he begins his studies in directing fiction at the National Film School of Denmark.
