André Cornellier

André Cornellier is an artist photographer, videographer, curator, lecturer, teacher, presenter, producer and editor, based in Canada. He sits on a number of juries and is co-founder of the LUX Awards.
An important figure in the field of photography and the visual arts, he is a photographic artist with a career spanning more than 30 years. He is renowned for his artistic and theatrical photography, which has been published in Quebec and abroad and presented in numerous exhibitions.
His photographic work has garnered him over 70 awards and accolades in New York, Toronto, London, Paris, Montreal and Geneva. Cornellier has curated no fewer than 25 exhibitions with artists such as Gabor Szilasi, and has produced and distributed four videos and a film, including a poetic documentary on Michael Flomen, presented at the International Festival of Films on Art, FIFA, in 2009.
He has also published a monograph on Canadian artists Carlos & Jason Sanchez: L'instant de la rupture/The moment of rupture, which has been distributed internationally, and on Marisa Portolese: Le jardin d'Antonia/Antonia's Garden.
Since 2001, he has been managing director of the UMA (Maison de l'image et de la photographie) in Montreal, Canada.
