Film director Scriptwriter Playwright

Nicole Borgeat was born in 1966. She is a Swiss screenwriter, director and playwright. 

At a young age, she turned to theatre, taking classes at the Conservatoire Populaire in Geneva and at the Drama Studio in London. At the age of 18, she decided to go into film and enrolled at INSAS (Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle) in Brussels. In 1991, she directed Éperdument oui, a short film that was shown and won awards at numerous festivals. 

She then worked as a production assistant and assistant director before returning to the performing arts and her own creations. In 2003, she wrote and directed Demain j'arrête!, a comedy about addiction that won an award at the Locarno Festival and was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize. 

Since 1997, she has collaborated with Yan Duyvendak as dramaturge, as well as with other artists including Alexandra Bachzetsis.
