Film director

Nicolas Raynaud is a documentary film director. He was born in Casablanca and grew up in Nantes (France), where he discovered sailing.

His first job was as a sailing instructor in La Trinité-sur-Mer, then known as the Mecca of sailing. A series of encounters and opportunities led him to sail with the greatest skippers of that golden era of the 1980s and 1990s: Mike Birch, Loick Peyron, and others. This is how he met Cristian Fevrier, and once he became a director in the mid-1990s, he set out to preserve the memory of that era through his portraits, compiling archive images that always have an unfortunate tendency to disappear into the dustbin of history.

He directed Histoires Atlantique with Christian Deleau in 1999. And Christian Février, L’œil marin in 2014. Among others.
