Joannie Lafrenière

A graduate in journalism and photography, Joannie works with a number of well-known publications. Her work, influenced by an anthropological approach, has won numerous awards. Over the past few years, she has directed for television (the series Vues de quartier broadcast on Évasion and Voix Maritimes on Canal D), for the web (Ferme zéro and Des maux illisibles produced by the NFB), acts as an accompanying filmmaker with Wapikoni mobile, which works in various Aboriginal communities in Quebec, and does photo direction on various projects. Her latest documentary project, Snowbirds, continues to be shown at a number of festivals. She lives, works and plays in Montreal and wherever life takes her.
